Beyond

There’s a…

…rulebook…

…and then there’s beyond.

The world beyond…

…abounds with freedom.

The freedom to think…

…like no one’s thought before.

To make seemingly absurd connections leading to clarity.

To crunch numbers and patterns without crutches.

To see with multi-dimensional vision using the eye of the mind.

To function beyond, one first needs to learn the rules of the normal, worldly game, by the book.

Followed by repeat implementation.

There comes a time, when a rule is implemented subconsciously, without having to look.

Extrapolate to entire game, whole rulebook, implemented as if on auto, through one’s reflexes.

Get ready for beyond.

One goes…

…beyond…

…without warning…

…when one is ready as outlined above.

Goes, comes back, goes, comes back, it’s quite random.

Bottomline is, how conscious is one while one is beyond?

Journey can last for just a few seconds, or even a second. Example – one has a flash.

Level of consciousness while beyond allows one to address solutions for complex issues.

What’s the bottom for this market?

Ground-reality of war?

How do I solve my home-situation?

What overall pattern is this market gravitating towards?

Ulterior motives.

Etc.

How much of such knowledge can be incorporated?

Can it even be true?

Is it making common sense?

Does one have the confidence to act upon it?

Well, it’s not all going to add up immediately. However…

…repeated performance over many years allow one to make systems.

To gauge reactions.

To develop counter-reactions.

To write a rule-book…

…for implementation of beyond-insights in actual life.

Implemented together with the entire gamut of logical, human rules of the world, an intuitive, self-written rule book to go in tandem is…

… invaluable.

Loops

There comes a day…

…when…

…even scum…

…meets its match.

On that day, or from that day onwards, …

…nothing seems to work out for even the worst evil entities.

How does one get to being…

…the worst of the worst…

…or, perhaps, the best of the best?

It’s all about loops.

Positive loops.

Negative loops.

Downwards spirals.

Betterment cycles.

Let’s break it down.

Action. Let’s say good cause created.

Positive effect.

Felt by one’s environment as well as one’s body, mind and soul.

Biochemistry of positivity secreted.

One’s system feels great, like a billion currency units.

Sleep quality great.

Feeling of contentment – priceless.

One psychologically wants to recreate this loop forever.

Wonderful. Please let’s keep doing this only.

Flip side.

Negative cause created.

Corresponding negative effect on environment and one’s entire system of body, mind and soul.

Biochemistry of negativity secreted.

Neurosis.

Psychosis.

Sleep quality horrendous.

Digestion compromised.

Immune system compromised.

Invitation for disease to seep in.

On-edge and worsening state of body and mind makes it very easy for more and worse negative causes to be created, within the same cycle, as wild-oat add-ons.

Even though one hates the idea of it, one has dragged oneself into a snowballing negative loop, out of which one needs to pull oneself out with full force, before it’s too late and before the burgeoning avalanche of adverse Karma drowns one into oblivion forever, erasing any trace of goodness or its footprint that ever existed in one.

It boils down to what we choose to do with our lives. Choices.

It boils down to the causes we create. Good karma. Accumulation. Non stop. Do good. Move on. Repeat. Loop it.

It boils down to this moment in life.

Let’s make it and all following moments the best ever possible moments for us and our environments.

Let’s let our positive loops carry us onto higher and higher, better and better trajectories. In life. In investing. In CSR. In society. Everywhere.

Cheers. 🙂

Recognition

Hey.

Don’t cry for me.

I’m doing well.

At times I’m down, when I seek recognition in the outer world, from people, from a country, from an institution, etc.

Since these sources have nuances, I get disappointed at times.

Over the years, have been learning to find recognition elsewhere.

I’ll just share with you where. Before that, let’s speak about every human’s need for…

…recognition.

We have it. Let’s not sweep it under the rug, or deny / ignore it.

Since it’s there, we need to deal with it.

When recognition comes from a worldly source, it is fickle at best. It inflates us, and makes us look for next-level stuff. And…

… it is fleeting.

A tool for manipulation.

Addictive.

Not leading to lasting happiness.

Not aligning with my core values committed to pursuits of good health, happiness, long-term contentment, and efforts towards no regrets.

Therefore – avoidable.

Stopped looking for it in humans or human-related paraphernalia, physical or institutional.

My recognition has been coming in something more natural.

Numbers.

At times in health numbers.

At other times in financial numbers.

In universal numbers.

Don’t have numbers to measure happiness and contentment. Can feel or not feel them though, and that’s a good enough marker. Regrets can be numbered, and eliminated down to zero. That’s wonderful.

Since I’ve chosen numbers to be my source of recognition, my entire focus in the endeavour to feel recognized focuses on health, financial and universal numbers.

Numbers speak to me. If they are recognizing my efforts, they don’t hide it, and I can read their message fast. When they don’t like my efforts, they are outspoken, and I get their drift, hopefully even faster. Even a preliminary health number out of whack? Springing into action to get it back on track, for example.

Downside?

Constant measuring and monitoring causes stress.

Yes, numbers can be stressful, since they trigger stress hormones, especially when they are out of whack.

Remedy?

Quality sleep.

Recovery.

Healthy intake.

Creation of good causes.

Befriending…

…numbers.

Finding a way to not get stressed at unusual numbers.

Like now. When financial worlds are crumbling, what keeps one numerically motivated? It’s the pursuit of a low buying average multiplying upon recovery. Since one has planned and kept oneself liquid for exactly this scenario, crumbling financial worlds are feeling comfortable, because the plan is being implemented. No other reason.

Or like recently. My HbA1C was out of whack. Hadn’t been monitoring for a while. No one’s looking – ok let’s binge…

The upside of constant monitoring is that one sees the effects of a binge immediately, and that alone causes one not to want to binge – the fear of seeing the effects of one’s stepping out of line.

Bottomline – monitoring has upsides, and downsides. The biggest upside is the wooden cane of the teacher, waiting to hit you, should you step out of line. The biggest downside is stressful obsession.

In the middle, there’s a path that brings happiness, contentment – and – recognition, even when one has chosen for oneself that these entities come from…

… numbers.

Activation

Wrt success and happiness…

…what was your pick.

You said both, right?

There was a thing about that, though.

Thing was, success made one happy, sure, but how long did that particular happiness last?

It got boring after a point.

Taking any one thing, and succeeding at it again and again and again, gave no kick anymore, after a while.

Because everyone wished to succeed in life, and, also, because everyone strove to be happy, how would one go about making the happy condition regular, in worldly terms, apart from the spiritual angle?

Accumulation and activation of good fortune was a must here. How would one go about this?

By doing anything that helped the cause of another. By doing good deeds that helped something, or someone. This would then create a field of good fortune. On such very field, success could flow, towards one. No field meant no flow. Creating field after field, then moving on to create another – such behaviour would accumulate mountains of good fortune, which, upon breaching of critical mass, would get activated for fruition. Activation was important, since initial success motivated one to continue.

On this trajectory, success would eventually overflow. Perhaps there would be fame.

Hey, what had happened to one’s happiness?

Did it increase post activation? Upon fame? Or did it decline?

Down the line, the high would summon its buddy, the low.

Between highs and lows, there was a high chance of balance being lost. Happiness levels would start to decrease. There came a time when it was gone.

One started to ask. When was one happiest?

While creating field upon field, yes, that seemed correct, that’s when one was happiest.

Creation of good fortune, the sheer act, that was it.

One didn’t seem to bore of that particular kind of happiness emanating from creation.

That brought us back to the basic question.

What was worth striving for most in life?

To immerse repeatedly into the act? The act of creating good fortune?

That seemed to be the best answer.

Normal

Hey…

… how’ve you been?

Just hit my normal, so, am feeling good about it.

LifeVector took a multi-SD shock some months back, and everything that makes my normal went out of whack.

Life today is about finding one’s normal amidst constant and new shocks.

Didn’t know I had it in me, to take a multi.

Found out while it happened and in the aftermath.

It’s good news for one’s environment, since everyone remains protected, if one is confident about navigating through multis.

So, what makes up my normal?

Firstly, I don’t fit.

So I construct my own fit.

Takes two and a half decades.

My fit has many-dimensional functionality, tailor made, to extract fullness from life.

In no defining order, there are some income-creating avenues.

Wealth-creating ones.

Recreation.

Giving.

Movement.

Study.

Wellness.

Spirit.

Family.

Exploration.

Responsibility.

Evolution.

Systems.

Auto-pilot.

Am not necessarily passing every avenue. There’s failure too.

I do know one big thing, though, from the recent shock.

It’s an invaluable lesson.

Don’t mind sharing it with you.

Am unhappy when away from my normal.

Further away, more the unhappiness.

Happiest when normal is hit.

Happiness-peak continues as normal remains intact.

Hmmmm.

Isn’t that a big learning?

Hope it helps you too!

🙂

Approach

Markets speak.

Can we hear them?

Do we know their language?

We are not born knowing their language.

We learn.

Their’s is not a normal language.

It keeps changing…

…till it’s similar to the past…

…and then it changes again…

…to throw us off-track.

We need to keep adapting.

Every corner could be a new one, with a new sign.

Feel the challenge?

The thrill upon attempting to decipher?

Do you feel fulfilled?

Well, if yes, then you’ve met your calling.

Congratulations.

Now sustain.

Play out your full market journey. Enjoy it. Win.

How?

Since every corner could be a new one, every corner needs to be approached with a what-if-plan.

Simultaneously, one is on the lookout for signs.

What signs?

Similarities, in patterns, psychology, chronology, feel, levels, anything.

Have you seen this before?

What happened last time?

Approach with multiple scenario what-if.

What if you haven’t seen current signs on offer?

Carve out the situation.

Create scenarios.

Build a what if for each scenario.

Approach.

Notice something?

Whether one has seen something before, or not, the approach is basically the same.

Great.

We’ll not bother with getting spooked out.

We just keep tapping the markets, armed with a play-out strategy for each unfolding scenario.

Our approach is designed such that we sustain till the end of our market journey and beyond.

We keep intact our health, family life, and our corpus.

We keep sharpening our edge, and keep attempting lucrative reward risk scenarios.

We learn to take our stop.

We learn to let runners run till logical exits appear.

We learn to establish and enjoy a life beyond markets.

Wishing all market success and happiness.

🙂

Happy 10th Birthday, Magic Bull !

Wow!

10 years…

…have flown by.

We’re smiling.

Our strategy stands.

Its construction has culminated.

It can weather the market.

Over time, we’ve fine-tuned our small entry quantum strategy extensively,…

…and it’s bearing fruit.

We’ve made it generic.

Anyone can use it.

There’s nothing to hide.

The two main ingredients required are patience and discipline.

Since these are anyways in short supply, even though our material is in public domain, very few people will actually avail benefit from it.

Why?

It’s work.

In general, one shies away from work.

Who’s going to dig out the nitty-gritty from 600 odd pieces on the site?

People are ok with a free ride, but putting in effort is a wholly different matter.

So the question arises – Why?

Why is the matter open to all? Why upload? Why write?

When we share, we achieve happiness.

Our body secretes hormones of happiness when we help others.

When our existence becomes invaluable to the Universe, the Universe goes out of its way to protect us.

Karma – the boomerang – comes back.

Don’t think – ever – even for one instant – that this effort is not being rewarded.

The Universe is repaying – in full – with heavy interest.

However,…

…one doesn’t do it for such repayment.

It’s FUN.

One does it for the enjoyment.

It’s a giveback.

One does it for the happiness it causes, in oneself and in others.

Evolution,…

…and protection…

…are just side-effects.

This effort…

…will go on.

Long after me…

…my words will live on.

On that note,…

…happy 10th birthday, Magic Bull.

Behaviour at the Sweet Spot

When you’re active,…

…happy,…

…at your financial goal,…

… and looking to go beyond,…

…what is this condition called?

It’s called…

…being at the sweet spot.

Stop here.

Enjoy it.

It’s come after toil.

Don’t let is go.

Whatever you do from this point onwards, maintain the existence of the sweet spot.

If you’re careless, the sweet spot will be gone…

…and you’ll be back in the rut.

If you don’t know how to behave at a sweet spot…

…you’ll most certainly see it go.

So…

…how does one behave at a sweet spot?

First up, don’t make too many moves here, because balance is brittle and has come at a cost.

You’ve moved your mountains to reach here. Movement is done.

Savings will emanate at the sweet spot.

Tap these.

Do whatever it is you wish to do from a part of these savings.

As your savings grow further, detach yourself more and more from the rat-race.

The sweet spot was the one where you told yourself you’d be happy.

Beyond, you should be happier.

Make sure that comes true for you.

Happy Living!

When Money goes on Auto

What does “doing well” mean for you?

Making money – does that mean you are doing well?

Not necessarily.

You could be making money, but in the bargain, your life could be out of balance.

In my world, that’s already a fail.

Ideally, I like to keep the market in my pocket, and be in some sort of balance, such that a feeling of well-being is generated.

What am I feeling happy about?

Firstly, about defining my market scope. I have outlined how I wish to interact with the market. I’ve not allowed the market to define me. That makes me happy.

Secondly, I’ve stuck to my strategy. Before that, I found my strategy. Phew!

Now you try it out.

The market shouldn’t bother you after you’re done with it. See to it. Programme yourself in such a manner. Once you’re done with the market, you can then utilise your time for other vitally important things in life. If the market were bothering you with its constant nag, you would not be able to do these things properly.

Congratulations, your life is now rounded off, and not mono-faceted.

Sticking to a winning strategy when things are not going your way is going to see you through.

I know, the urge to call it off and look for a new strategy is huge when your current one seems to be going South. However, you’ve tried and back-tested your strategy. It should hold and then some. Now, have the confidence to stick to a plan.

Notice something?

I’ve not spoken about money.

Why?

Because, mostly, money goes on auto, when these basics are standing strong.

Happy Seventh Birthday, Magic Bull !

Are you happy?

What makes you happy?

Have you discovered that?

Do you do what you’ve discovered?

Do you try and stay happy?

Writing makes me happy.

Everything else goes into the background.

Words remain.

They will remain beyond me.

They are powerful.

Writing has a meaning.

It organizes thoughts.

It elucidates concepts.

It helps those in need.

It breaks paths.

It sets standards.

Sure, I do other meaningful things with my life.

Writing is right up there at the front of those meaningful things.

Happy seventh birthday, Magic Bull !

Small Shoots to Big Trees

What do I see around myself?

Lots of small shoots.

Wherever I look, there are small shoots.

Does this make me happy?

You bet.

Why?

Why not?

I mean, you don’t see any trees.

So?

You’ve been at it for a while.

So?

All you’re seeing is shoots. Does that satisfy you? None of your efforts is a big tree in all this while.

That’s a very narrow-minded, greedy and fast-buck remark.

Explain.

For each of the shoots I see around me, twenty efforts have died their death. However, one shoot managed to entrench itself. This one shoot is firm, and goes very deep into the ground. It’s roots have become very strong. It is now ready for the world and has decided to show itself over the ground.  Over the next many, many years, with my meticulous nurturing, this very shoot shall grow up into a mammoth tree with unprecedented positive consequences.

I see. And, you’re saying that you see many such shoots around yourself?

Yes, many many.

Wow.

Yeah, i’ve been busy. I’ve tried and discarded many things. What remained didn’t want to leave me. It got planted and grew roots. Now that the shoots are growing, they are mostly on auto-pilot. Some need tending to once a day, some once a week.

Does that give you empty spaces in between?

Yes.

How do you fill these empty spaces?

I do, and I don’t.

Meaning?

Unless something new refuses to leave me, I don’t wish to plant another tree.

Why?

I’m happy enough tending to what I have.

So you’ve reached the…what’s that called?

Sweet spot?

Yes, you’ve reached the sweet spot. But nobody knows about you. You’re not famous or anything.

That’s why the spot is sweet.

Meaning?

Nobody disturbs my privacy. I can go where I choose. Do what I want. I don’t need to share my time with anyone if I don’t want to. There are no compulsions imposed upon me.

Do you think you will be famous one day?

When these shoots grow into big trees, that might happen.

Do you want it to happen?

I want my trees to grow. Not sure today about fame. It kills personal life. I like my life and its pace.

Any regrets?

Sometimes, I get lonely. It’s the nature of the path. Despite family and a decent social life, loneliness is still there. Applied finance requires a lot of alone-time.

How do you deal with that?

I start tending to a different shoot. Financial. Non-financial. Recreational. Creative. Gap gets bridged, and then the loneliness is gone.

Incorporating the Satisfaction Factor

How do you wish to leave your portfolio?

Leave as in…

… you leave.

Let’s paraphrase this.

In what condition do you envision your folio to be at your time of ultimate departure?

Why is this question necessary?

Why are we putting together our folios?

What do we want out of the whole shebang?

Are we playing the game just because everyone else is doing so, without thinking any further?

Stop.

Think.

Do.

We want satisfaction.

Everyone searches for happiness.

We want to have led full lives.

We want to leave with smoothly outlined pipelines which won’t be blocked by any surviving party’s antics.

Auto-pipelines are a reality now. It takes a standing instruction, that’s it.

We want to have done some CSR work, as in charity.

We want to leave a legacy.

We don’t wish to make our surviving family slaves to an inheritance. We want them to be self-sufficient with trouble-shooting acumen. However, funds need to be accessible at times of emergency.

And blah blah blah blah blah…, list can be endless. However, you get the gist.

All this requires planning…

… NOW.

Take out the time to do some basics.

Nobody’s asking you to do a doctorate on this.

Just do the basic nitty-gritty.

The whole with some basics leads to successful and satisfactory implementation. Leave out the nitty-gritty, and you could be left without the success and satisfaction part too.

Do it properly, come on.

🙂

What to do with constant hunger?

Hmmm…

Is it a healthy state of being?

No.

What does it do for you?

Gets you right up there.

What’s the problem?

You’re still hungry.

Never satisfied.

After three victories in a day, a miniscule here or there in a market-situation gets you down.

Deplorable?

Yes and no.

You’re at peak-performance.

That’s the good thing about constant hunger.

However, you’re not happy. Yeah, still not happy. You want more, and more, and more. You don’t know where to stop. You’ve forgotten about happiness.

Don’t get me wrong.

Keep your hunger.

Strive.

Harder, higher.

Then, celebrate a victory.

Be in that space for a while.

Forget about tomorrow for a while.

Be happy for a while.

Next time, be happy for a while longer.

And even longer.

Till it becomes a habit.

It’s been twelve years in the marketplace. I have to keep reminding myself of this chronology every day.

The most basic things in life are also the most difficult to win back.

We were born in a state of bliss. We were oblivious to almost everything. We were happy. We need to win that happiness back.

There will always be a new target.

The one just achieved deserves a happy adieu.

🙂
